Proficient description English Each bedroom at the Grasmere is named after one of the many great writers and poets who have been inspired by the beauty and grandeur of the Lake District’s landscape. Just as each writer has his own particular style, so each room is individual in style, size, decor and furnishings. Many have feature beds, including ornate carved antique French beds, four poster beds and a half-tester, and period furniture as well as pine. Beautiful soft furnishing create help create an atmosphere of warmth and cosiness. All rooms have ensuite facilities, and all have central heating and direct dial telephone. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of toiletries are provided as standard. Our elegant Drawing Room, with sparkling chandeliers and many original Victorian features including fine wood panelling, offers peace and relaxation. There you will find a variety of board games, cards, puzzles and magazines to stimulate the mind while allowing the body to unwind. The highlight of every stay at the Grasmere Hotel is undoubtedly dinner in the magnificent, award-winning restaurant which overlooks the River Rothay, and features a unique vaulted ceiling and ornate chandelier. A superb four course dinner plus coffee is served every day, and the menu, which is changed daily, offers a varied choice of culinary delights. Only the finest quality fresh produce is used. The Grasmere’s stores contain no frozen or convenience foods, and bread rolls are freshly baked daily. The food is plentiful, imaginative, of excellent quality, and is attractively presented without pretentiousness. |
